Cornerstone
ceremonies were recently held for a new plant in India. Modern new
production facilities with a floor space of 25,000 square meters
are being built in Ahmedabad (Amdabad) on an area of 110,000
square meters. KHS has been participating in an Indo-German joint
venture with KHS Machinery Pvt. since 1997 in which the Indian
Mamata Group holds a 40-percent share. KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd. is
very clearly the market leader in the field of the filling and
packaging technology for the beverage sector in the Indian market.
This new plant will increase the production
capacity in India considerably. KHS will thus not only be taking
the growth potential in this region into account but meeting the
increased demand in other Asian markets as well. These markets
will be supplied directly from India.
In his speech during the ceremonies,
Mahendra N. Patel, Chairman of the Mamata Group and Managing
Director of KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd., praised the excellent
cooperation between all those involved. "Our previous success
is the result of our performance. We are on a rewarding journey,
on a road that will continue on the basis of trust and
respect."
Valentin Reisgen, Chief Executive Officer of
KHS AG: "With the construction of the Ahmedabad plant, we are
furthering our commitment in high-growth markets. Experts
anticipate that this market will grow disproportionately within
the coming years. We are now preparing for this development."
This investment in India will be the perfect
complement to KHS' global presence. In addition to several plants
in Germany, KHS currently maintains production sites in the
U.S.A., Mexico, Brazil, and India. The more than sixty service and
sales locations on all continents maintain the outstanding quality
of local service at all times.
